The 5 inch backset deadbolts we sell from Kwikset and Schlage come in just about any finish you could want. Just a few of the ones we have include satin nickel, aged bronze, and Venetian bronze. If you'd like to shop by finish, simply click the desired option on the left side of the page to narrow your results. Be aware that some deadbolts will charge you more money for specific finishes than others.
In addition to finishes, you can also choose to shop our line of 5 inch backset deadbolts by function; simply choose between Single Cylinder deadbolts or Double Cylinder deadbolts. If you're not sure what the difference is, Single Cylinder deadbolts are locked and unlocked by a key from the exterior and by a thumb turn from the interior. Double Cylinder deadbolts, on the other hand, are locked and unlocked by a key from both sides of the door. We do not recommend choosing a Double Cylinder deadbolt for a front door since it'll be difficult to evacuate the premises during an emergency.
Once you find a style you like, make sure you know if it's a Single or Double Cylinder deadbolt, and make sure it comes in your desired finish. Then, click on it and fill out the white boxes on the right side of the page. If you've chosen a Kwikset product, you'll be prompted to choose a finish, a key cylinder type, a backset, and door thickness. Make sure you select the 5 inch backset option from the backset dropdown menu, since the deadbolts are usually made for standard latches. To view Schlage prices and customization options, you'll need to log in with your Direct Door Hardware account.
As you weigh your options between Kwikset and Schlage, keep in mind that Kwikset offers a Lifetime Mechanical and 10 Year Finish warranty on its 5 inch backset deadbolts. These warranties cover the original residential user of Kwikset Products against defects in material and workmanship as long as the original user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed. Meanwhile, Schlage extends a lifetime limited mechanical and finish warranty, as well as a one-year limited electronics warranty, to the original consumer user of their product. This warranty protects you from defects in material and workmanship, as long as the original user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed.
